GENERAL NOTES:
1 TITLE
1.1 The Society shall be called The Linton Angling Society, hereafter to be referred to as "the Club".
2 OBJECTS
2.1 To foster and promote the sport of Anglingat all levels, providing opportunities for recreation and competition.
3 MEMBERSHIP
Founded 1946 - Members of K.F.C.A. Angling Trust & Fish Legal.
Rules & Directives
1.) You MUST be in possession of your Membership cards & the appropriate number
of E.A. National licenses at ALL times when fishing any LAS water.
2.) NO FISHING during the CLOSED SEASON:
Rivers for coarse fish, from the 15th March to the 15th June inclusive:
For game fish from the 1st October to the 31st March inclusive.
Any CLOSED PERIOD on Still Water venues will be determined by the committee. You will be advised on your card, by Newsletter, on Web site or Notice boards will be erected at the specific venues at the time.
3.) Your CAR PARKING PERMIT must be suitably displayed on your vehicle when fishing Society waters.
4.) Three rods may be used on LAS waters.
5.) Radios are banned on all LAS waters. (Personal equipment with earphones is acceptable)
6.) Portable gas cookers may be used. No open fires are allowed on any LAS waters.
7.) No tents to be erected. (A purpose built Bivvy or Umbrella with overwrap is acceptable)
8.) The use of ‘BENT HOOKS’, FIXED weighted ‘bolt rigs’ & weights over TWO ounces are banned on all LAS waters.
9.) All NUT baits are banned on all LAS waters.
10.) NO TINS are allowed on any LAS venues (sweet corn/luncheon meat etc. should be carried in bait boxes).
11.) Pre-baiting of swims is permitted but should only be done so in strict moderation.
12.) Baited rods are not to be left in the water or unattended, under any circumstances.
IF YOU’RE LEAVING YOUR SWIM, REEL IN!
13.) Landing nets must be made up ready before you start fishing.
14.) All Carp and Pike Keep Sacks are BANNED. Large fish must not be retained in nets. Keepnets should not be used in conditions that may result in fish getting stressed, (hot weather) they should be properly submerged and pegged out at all times. Do not overcrowd nets with big fish species. (e.g. Carp & Bream)
15.) When Carp and Pike fishing unhooking mats MUST be used at all times. These shall be of a minimum size & quality. Landing nets 36”.Unhooking mats 32” long x 2” thick.
16.) DOGS will be allowed on specific venues only, see membership card for details. They must be on a lead & under control at ALL times. The member/owner is totally responsible for their animal. All Excrement MUST BE REMOVED from venue.
17.) When reporting any catch to the press, the venue should be stated only as,
‘A Linton A.S. Water’. Other Linton Members must only witness fish caught at Linton Lake.
18.) LINTON PARK LAKE: Daytime fishing. From FIRST LIGHT (dawn breaking) till 1 hour AFTER DUSK.
(To fish at night everyone i.e. Members & their Guests MUST obtained a night fishing permit.)
Any guests MUST have the correct permit that includes a day & night permit if they are fishing the night as well.
These MUST be purchased before any fishing commences. The member is totally responsible for their guests, if they are found without the relevant permit the member will be have his membership SUSPENDED.
19.) All fish must be handled with great care, any diseased fish or signs of pollution must be reported immediately.
20.) LEAVE NO LITTER: You are responsible for any litter IN or AROUND your swim irrespective of who put it there.
If there is any litter in your swim, YOU MUST REMOVE IT. If you are found leaving litter any where, YOU WILL BE EXPELLED!
21.) No fishing directly in amongst or within the actual confines of the reed & lily pad areas, applies to all LAS waters.
22.) The use of live fish as bait whilst fishing on any Linton waters is allowed. Only live fish caught at the water/venue you intend to fish may be used. The transfer or import of live fish to or from ANY water/venue is STRICTLY PROHIBITED BY LAW.
Any fish over the length of 150mm (6”) may NOT be used as live bait.
Single hook rigs ONLY. TREBLE HOOK RIGS (i.e: Snap tackle) ARE NOT ALLOWED.
24.) The use of air guns, crossbows, or any other firearms on any Linton waters is STRICTLY PROHIBITED.
IGNORANCE OF ANY SOCIETY RULE OR DIRECTIVE WILL NOT BE ACCPETED AN EXCUSE

JUNIOR SECTION
Rules & Directives (Revised July 2011)
All members under the age of 18 are classed as JUNIOR members.
There are TWO category of Junior Membership:
Junior A - All juniors from 12 up to 18 years old.
Junior C - All juniors under the age of 12 years old.
