Description:
The River Medway, this beautiful river is the heart of Kent, we have a 1 mile section some 4 fields of this most famous river, on the south side so no tow paths to worry about!
Excellent catches of Bream, Roach, Dace, Chub, Perch & Tench are possible.
They’re also some very good Carp, Barbel and Pike to be found in this stretch
Directions:
From Maidstone travel out on the A26 towards Tonbridge. At the Wateringbury traffic lights turn left down towards Nettlestead (B2015). Go through Wateringbury. Immediately turn left going over the railway crossing, over the river bridge, around tight right hand bend, follow the road for ¼ mile after sharp left hand bend, field entrance is immediately on the right.
Parking: The main parking area is just inside the gate on the right.
In summer or dry conditions there is a second parking area just at the end of the first field, this is for those wishing to fish the other fields. In the first field you may sensibly park by your swim , drive along track by riverbank do not cut across field
Access is ONLY via the track alongside the river.
DO NOT DRIVE DOWN THE TRACK IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FIELD!
DO NOT PARK ON or BLOCK THE TRACK or GATEWAY.
In wet & winter conditions DO NOT drive or park where you are likely to get stuck:
Get out & go look at the parking area first, please! If you do get stuck under NO circumstances are you to contact the landowner or farmer for a tow out. Your problem!
Special Note:
Be polite to boat owners, they have as much right to be on the river as you do!
There is NO overnight mooring for boats on our bank.
NO cutting in of extra swims, trees, reeds, undergrowth etc.
This can only to be done on official organized working parties or by prior consent.
Do not interfere with any crops, wild fowl (pheasants) or other stock that may be in the fields.
Remember that there is still a “closed season” for rivers, 15th March to 15th June inclusive.
