JUNIOR SECTION
Rules & Directives (Revised July 2011)
All members under the age of 18 are classed as JUNIOR members.
There are TWO category of Junior Membership:
Junior A - All juniors from 12 up to 18 years old.
Junior C - All juniors under the age of 12 years old.
1.) ALL Juniors UNDER the age of 14 years are NOT allowed to fish any L.A.S. waters UNLESS they are accompanied & supervised by an LAS *ADULT member.
2.) Juniors between the ages of 14 years & 18 years may fish alone during DAYLIGHT HOURS ONLY (excluding Toke Reservoir) but their parents / guardians will be held responsible for their safety/behavior.
3.) NIGHT FISHING: NO juniors will be allowed to night fish unless they are accompanied & supervised at all times by an *ADULT MEMBER. (i.e. full card holding adult member over 21 years old)
4.) Toke Farm Reservoir: the following rules apply.
NO juniors will be allowed to fish Toke Farm Reservoir unless they are accompanied & supervised by an *adult member, who will be held responsible for the junior’s behavior.
5.) NO juniors will be allowed to purchase guest permits or take guests.
6.) NO juniors will be allowed on any of Linton’s waters unless they are a card holding member of the Linton Angling Society.
(That means you can’t take your non member friends & mates with you!)
7.) NO current membership cards with you? NO fishing! NO arguments!
9.) Combination locks are on all venues gates. These must remain closed & locked at all times.
In the past we had complaints that some juniors had been using foul language, leaving litter & using the fisheries as if they were in a playground.
THIS SORT OF BEHAVIOUR WILL NOT BE TOLERATED BY THIS SOCIETY
Therefore any junior found misbehaving at any L.A.S. venue would be expelled immediately.
NOTES TO PARENTS / GUARDIANS
The Linton Angling Society wishes to point out that all our Reservoirs are on average 15 feet deep & dangerous.
We would remind you of the declaration that you signed when you joined your Junior, the safety of your child is YOUR responsibility, the L.A.S. will not be held responsible for any mishap to any Juniors whilst they are on any property that is owned, leased or controlled by this Society.
Please help us to help your children, bad & unruly behaviour, leaving litter nearly cost us the fishing rights on two venues in the past, so please advise your children accordingly.
The Linton Angling Society is intent that children, young people & vulnerable adults will find angling a safe environment in which to have fun, learn & develop, & will seek to ensure this by adopting, using & promoting the JAGB (Joint Angling Governing Body) Child Protection Policy Guidelines.
Therefore in keeping with current legislation you will be advised of the Society’s own qualified Child Protection Officers names & numbers.
As a club we want to encourage & build up the junior section,
After all, they are the future of Angling!
